Site Reboots is Jonny Fauth and Brent Roark, a two-person web shop in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This page explains what this website collects, why, and who else can see it. It is short because the site does very little.
What we collect
One thing: the contact form. If you fill it in, we receive whatever you typed into these fields — your name, your business, your email address, your phone number, your website, what you are looking for, your town, and your message. Only your name and email address are required.
Along with a submission we also record the IP address it came from and the browser user-agent string. That is for spam and abuse handling — the form has no CAPTCHA, so this is how we tell a person from a script.
If you do not use the form, we collect nothing about you beyond the ordinary server logs described below.
What we do not do
- No third-party analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager and no Meta pixel. We count visits ourselves — see Analytics below.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts that set them.
- No mailing list. Sending the form does not subscribe you to anything.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.
- No visitor accounts, no registration, and no comment section.
Cookies
Browsing this site sets no cookies at all. Our visitor counting is deliberately configured to work without them. Cookies are only set if you log in to the site’s administration area, which is for us, not for visitors. Those are standard WordPress login and preference cookies and they carry no tracking purpose.
How we use what you send
To read your enquiry and reply to it. That is the whole purpose. We do not feed it into any other system, profile you with it, or use it to advertise to you.
Who else can see it
Your submission is stored on our own server and emailed to us. Two companies are necessarily involved in that:
- Zoho hosts our email and carries the notification message, so your enquiry passes through and is stored in their mail service. See Zoho’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare sits in front of this website for DNS and delivery, so requests to the site — including your IP address — pass through their network. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Nobody else. We would also hand over information if the law actually required it of us, which has never happened.
Analytics
We count visits, using Koko Analytics. It runs on our own server. No data goes to Google, Meta, or any analytics company, because none is involved.
It records which page was viewed, when, and which site linked you here. It does not store your IP address, and it builds no profile of you.
To tell a returning visitor from a new one without using a cookie, it combines your IP address and browser string with a random number that our server generates fresh each day, and keeps only the resulting hash. The random number is destroyed every night and the day’s hashes are deleted with it, so yesterday’s visit cannot be connected to today’s. The original IP address is never written down.
What we end up with is counts: this page got so many views from so many people this week. Visit totals are kept for 24 months. We do not count our own visits.
There is no heatmap, no session recording, and no advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Server logs
Like any web server, ours records each request: the IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser string. These logs are kept for 14 days and then rotated away. They are used for troubleshooting and for spotting attacks, nothing else.
How long we keep enquiries
We keep an enquiry while it is still useful — an active conversation, a quote, or a record of work we did. When it stops being useful we delete it. If you ask us to delete yours sooner, we will, and we do not need a reason.
Your rights
Email [email protected] and you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We will answer within 30 days. We honour these requests for everyone who asks, wherever you live, rather than checking first whether a particular law obliges us to.
Security
The site runs on a hardened, isolated server configuration and traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. We think that is a good setup, and we are not going to promise you it is unbreakable, because nobody honestly can. If we ever lose data in a way that affects you, we will tell you.
Children
This is a business-to-business site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
